St. Joseph College of Communication (SJCC) is set to roll out the red carpet tomorrow, September 16, 2026, for the fourth edition of the SJCC International Film Festival. Running through September 18 at the SJCC Media Village campus, the three-day celebration brings together a diverse lineup of student cinema, competitive short films, and feature-length masterclasses led by prominent Indian filmmakers.
Day 1 Spotlight: September 16
The festival kicks off bright and early at 8:45 AM with a special opening screening of Balan: The Boy, directed by Chidambaram S. Poduval, followed by an interactive Open Forum with the director moderated by Dr. Aju K Narayanan. Following the official inauguration at noon, the afternoon shifts into competitive screenings, featuring works such as Piyush Thakur’s The First Film and Lekshmi Mohan’s Half of Everything. The evening wraps up with student and alumni showcases—including an open forum hosted by Sajan Kalathil—and a live music concert at 8:08 PM.
Day 2 Spotlight: September 17
Thursday opens at 9:00 AM with director Krishand R. K.’s special screening of Masthishka Maranam, paired with a dedicated Q&A session moderated by Dr. Ajeesh Thomas. The afternoon block will showcase short films spanning Competition, Campus, and Student Corner sections. Highlight of the evening includes a featured Director’s Corner screening of Eko by Dinjith Ayyathan at 4:00 PM, followed by another live music performance to close out the night.
Day 3 & Grand Finale: September 18
The final day opens with Rajesh Madhavan’s Pennum Porattum at 9:00 AM and a forum moderated by Ms. Sharlet M. George. The afternoon will showcase international and student shorts—including Bui Duc Anh’s Seeds of Memory and Feryel ben boubakar’s Salopette.
The festival officially concludes on Friday evening with a Closing Ceremony starting at 4:30 PM, capped off by a grand closing musical concert from 6:45 PM onwards.
Led by Festival Director Leenus LK and Department Head Nissa Susan Mathew, the event promises to be a vibrant gathering for film enthusiasts, emerging student directors, and industry veterans alike. Admission to screenings is open to festival delegates and students across all three days.
