St. Joseph College of Communication (SJCC) successfully concluded its intensive six-day course on Game Design in Unity, which ran from August 18th to 23rd, 2025. The workshop, a major effort by the college to expose students to cutting-edge digital media technologies, was led by international mentor Michael John Farrow-Killick from Cambridge, England, United Kingdom.
The specialized course focused on practical skills, offering students Personal Mentorship and critical insights into the process of Production & Releasing Games Globally. Twelve highly enthusiastic students participated, dedicating their time from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM daily to mastering the Unity game engine.
The course culminated in a compelling final demonstration where the participants showcased the games they had developed during the week. This hands-on, project-based conclusion provided the students with real-world experience, taking them through the entire development lifecycle—from conceptualization and design to final production and presentation. The quality of the games demonstrated by the small but dedicated cohort highlighted the effectiveness of the mentorship and the students’ rapid skill acquisition.
SJCC officials emphasized that the collaboration with an international expert like Farrow-Killick fulfills the institution’s commitment to providing globally relevant and industry-focused training. This course not only equipped students with technical expertise in game design but also inspired them to think about future careers in the rapidly expanding global gaming industry
