The Department of Chemistry, in association with the UBA and Bhoomithrasena Club of Assumption College, Changanacherry, organized the World Environment Day celebration on 5 June 2026 at Powathil Hall. The programme was conducted with the theme “Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future.” The event aimed to create awareness among students about environmental conservation and sustainable living.
Dr. Usha K. Aravind, Professor, School of Environmental Studies, CUSAT, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, she highlighted the importance of protecting the environment and encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. The programme emphasized the significance of sustainable development and climate action, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The event was attended by faculty members and students, making it a meaningful and inspiring celebration of World Environment Day 2026.
